Stripes can be made many different ways. Below are a few types.
The white weaving has blue ribbons needle woven through it with the ends left in the fringe.
The yellow one is needle woven from each side through a basic white weave. The yarns interlock in the middle and are woven back to the edge in a hatching pattern. You could get the samepattern using Altha Fill in.
Using the same yarn I wove with I made crochet chain stitchs through each woven square for a raised texture stripe.
The last one has needle woven stripes across the top edge and down the middle of the weaving.
