Weaving Point Up on a Tri Loom

Some people find it easier to weave with the point of the Tri Loom pointed toward the top.

You can turn your loom and switch from weaving point down to point up when ever you like during a weaving.
I often turn it several times on my large loom to make it easier to reach the weaving while still sitting down.

You can start from the left or right hypotenuse corner.
Place your slip knot over the corner nail and take the ball end of the yarn across the loom.

starting the weaving

The yarn goes between the corner and second nail.
Down and around the hypotenuse nail and back up between the corner and second nail

first row

Take the yarn between the second and third nails and back across the loom to the other side
.
This is your second row.
starting the second row

Take your yarn down between the corner and second nail on the hypotenuse.
Go under the second hypotenuse nail.
starting the third row

You will start weaving on this row.
Weaving down go over the top row and under the bottom.
Hook the ball end of your yarn and pull up a weaving loop

start weaving

This will form your weaving loop.
You can see both sides of the loop have been woven through the horizontal rows.
This is how the left and right sides of the loom are woven at the same time.
As the sides are woven the weaving fills in toward the middle.

your first weaving loop

Hook the yarn over the empty side nail.
Grasp the other side of the weaving loop and pull it through the weaving rows to the other side of the loom.

moving the loop

Hook the side of the loop over the empty side nail and adjust your tension on the yarn.

the other side woven

From the top weave down over, under and over the rows.
continue weaving

Hook the ball end of your yarn and pull a weaving loop to the top.
Take your loop to the other side of the loom.

Hook the loop over the next empty nail.
Weave back down through the rows and hook your yarn.
Pull the loop to the top.

Continue weaving first one side then the other.
next row

Your fingers or hook will soon no longer reach from the top to the bottom of your weaving.
Put your hook through the weaving at a point you will be able to reach the bottom and weave down.
Hook your yarn and pull the loop up through the weaving, leave the loop protruding from between the rows.

Weave the next section and hook the loop and pull it up through the weaving.
Continue weaving sections and pulling the loop up through the weaving until you reach the top.
Hook the loop over the next empty side nail.
Pull your loop to the other side and hook it over the next empty nail.

Check carefully that you have not woven over or under two rows.
If you have pull the row out to the point of the mistake and redo it.

weaving sections

Continue weaving until you reach the  middle.

Weaving filling in from both sides

Weave down betwen the middle nails and hook your yarn.
Weave up to the point. cut your loop and pull the ball end of the yarn out.
Tie off the yarn at the point and at your beginning corner.
